You have to consider that New York City is where the last tennis grand slam tournament of the year is held, which is the US Open. Your kids will surely love the mini-festival atmosphere in the Flushing Meadows, and they will also be able to have a chance to meet their idols and other top tennis players in the world, such as Ana Ivanovic, Venus and Serena Williams, Andy Roddick, Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafa Nadal, and Fernando Verdasco.

You will also be able to have a chance to meet tennis legends, particularly John McEnroe as he usually attends grand slam events. If you want to take your kids to watch the US Open, make sure that you go there between mid August and early September as these are the months when the tournament starts. Also, you may want to reserve tickets early on as this is a very popular event that people from all over the world attends.

If your family is ever in Manhattan, then you will surely want to visit FAO Schwartz, which is a legendary toy store. Your kids will think that they have gone straight to heaven when they enter the store as they will see numerous toys on display floor after floor, demonstrations as well as experience some of the world's most unusual toys.

You can also take your kids to the American Museum of Natural History or to the Metropolitan Msuem of Art, where they will be able to have fun and at the same time, learn a lot of cool things.
